Fairview Rec Association

FRA's Softball Program follows the governance of Diamond Youth Softball, Inc. and offers two seasons annually for female athletes ages 5 - 18. 


Spring Season

  • Registration opens early January and closes at the end of February. 
  • Registration fees for softball are $185.00 per player which includes a full softball uniform (shirt, pants, belt, and socks),  approximately 16-22 games (weather dependent), and supports general costs to maintain the fields during the season and provide umpires. 
  • The Head Coach and Assistant Coaches are parent and community volunteers. 
  • Each athlete will participate in "showcase" first weekend of March, where designated coaches evaluate each athlete's skill level in order to create balance during the draft process. 
  • Teams are drafted following the showcase and coaches will begin to communicate with parents. 
  • Teams are provided two practice slots each week prior to their first game of the season. 
  • Once the season begins, each team will only be provided one practice time to accommodate scheduling of games. 
  • Regular season games will begin in early April and conclude at the end of May. 
  • All interleague games will take place at Fairview Park, located off Highway 96. 
  • FRA does partner with other DYS-affiliated programs and teams may away games in Centerville, Dickson, Erin, Lyles, McEwen or Waverly, TN. 
  • An All-Star team will be formed between all teams within the age group and compete in the District and State tournaments through the month of June. If the team makes it to the World Series, the team will compete in mid-July. 

Fall Season

  • The purpose of "Fall Ball" is to continue the development of the athlete in the game of softball and prepare the athlete who may be moving into a new age bracket the following spring season. 
  • Registration opens early July and closes mid-August.
  • Registration fees for softball are $75per player which includes a  jersey,  approximately 10-15 games (weather dependent), and supports general costs to maintain the fields during the season. 
  • The Head Coach and Assistant Coaches are parent and community volunteers. 
  • Teams are drafted between the coaches within a week of close of registration.
  • Teams are provided two practice slots each week prior to their first game of the season. 
  • Once the season begins, each team will only be provided one practice time to accommodate scheduling of games. 
  • Regular season games will begin after the Labor Day holiday. 
  • All interleague games will take place at Fairview Park, located off Highway 96. 
  • FRA does partner with other DYS-affiliated programs and teams may away games in Centerville, Dickson, Erin, Lyles, McEwen or Waverly, TN.
